Mr. Wade H. Darroch, 73, of Fuquay-Varina passed peacefully Sunday, October 2, 2022, at UNC Rex Raleigh. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late James H. and Ruby Lloyd Darroch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Loyd, Alvin and a sister, Marie Dove.

Wade graduated from Anderson Creek High School in 1968 and attended Central Carolina Community College for two years. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve for eight years and received awards for marksmanship. He worked various jobs with the last job working and retiring from UNC Hospitals as an electronic shop supervisor after 21 years of employment.

Wade enjoyed family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved to watch NASCAR and fishing. Wade was talented while working with his hands, especially automotive and electronic repair. He was a very good problem solver.

Wade is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Wood Darroch of the home; three daughters, Kelley Walls (Josh) of Midlothian, VA, Kristal Goodwin of Fuquay-Varina, Charlene Jarrell (Kerry) of Fuquay-Varina; four grandchildren, Miles Goodwin, Abby Walls, Savannah Roark, Trevor Jarrell; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM Thursday, October 6, 2022, at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Gordon officiating.
