Mrs. Virginia "Jean" Ann Upchurch, 86, of Broadway passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Louis Bethea and Flora May Black Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Upchurch and son, Lynn Parker.

Jean is survived by 2 grandchildren, Uriah Parker and wife Ashley of Broadway, Torrie Bell and husband Josh of Fuquay-Varina; 6 great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Elijah Parker, Sara Graves, Summer Bell, Liberty Bell and J.J. Bell; brother, James Louis Smith of Lillington, 2 sisters, Vivian Smith of Broadway and Christine Vinson of Autryville; nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, August 13, 2021, at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home.

In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
