Obituary

Mrs. Virginia G. Currin, 89, of Lillington passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 at Westfield Rehabilitation and Health Center in Sanford surrounded by her family. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late John Alford and Nannie Kelly Griffin. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Morris Currin; an infant son, Ronald Morris Currin and daughter, Linda Gail Brown. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Virginia was a life long homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and quilting. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed canning and freezing. Virginia was a devoted teacher and mentor to her family and a faithful servant of the Lord. She was an active member of Broadway United Methodist Church serving in many capacities.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Ginger C. Couch and husband, Bobby of Hillsborough; daughter, Laurie Norris and husband, Randy of Lillington; son, Douglas Currin and wife, Connie of Mamers; son-in-law, David Brown of Lillington; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Broadway United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike McVey officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Broadway United Methodist Church from 3:00-4:00 PM.
