Mrs. Verda Lewis "Lynn" Helms, 88, of Seven Lakes, formerly of Lillington, passed away June 23, 2019.

Lynn was born November 21, 1930 to the late Norman and Verda Lewis and raised in Lillington.  She graduated from Lillington High School in 1950 and Flora MacDonald College in 1952.  She married Bob in 1953 and they began their adventure together through this life.  Lynn was primarily a homemaker, but from time to time she did teach school.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. at Lillington Presbyterian Church with Rev. Barrett Payne presiding.

Lynn was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Bradley and Jane McKinney; and brother, Frank Lewis.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Frederick "Bob" Helms; three children, Michael Lewis Helms and wife Pam of Hendersonville, Paula Helms Womack and husband Robert Frederick Womack of Pinehurst, and Timothy Frederick Helms and wife Karen of Carthage; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Lynn's name to the church or charity of one's choice.
