Uriah "Ukie" Hallman, Jr., 62 of Angier passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Sanford Health and Rehab.

Ukie was born March 3, 1953 to Margie Hallman and the late Ukie Hallman. Ukie was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Dale.

Ukie graduated from Campbell College with his Masters in Education. He taught at Central Carolina Community College for 21 years. He was an avid reader and loved to cook. He loved Duke Basketball.

Ukie is survived by a son, Brian Uriah Hallman of Mamers; a grandson, Able Uriah Hallman; mother, Margie Hallman of Sanford; 2 brothers, Andy Hallman and wife Jane of Lake Tillery and Tim Hallman and wife Lynda of Sanford; a special step-son, Jimmy Burr of Sanford.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow at Cool Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
