Thomas "Tom" J. Stanley, Jr., 57, of Bunnlevel, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Wake Med Raleigh.

Tom was born on May 13, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to Goldie M. and the late Thomas J. Stanley. Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis.

Tom was a Navy Veteran and had been a heavy equipment mechanic most of his adult life. He loved the Lord, his family and Overhills Community Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Linda Stanley, of the home; his mother, Goldie M. Stanley of Bunnlevel; 2 brothers, Michael Stanley and wife Rose of Knightdale, and Mitchell Stanley of Bunnlevel; a daughter, Brandy Weimer of Ohio; a step-son, Ryan Barbour of Apex; two grandchildren; three nephews; several great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Rev. Roy McLamb officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and all other times at the home. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
