Mr. Timothy V. "Tim" Newton, age 56, of Lillington passed away Monday, May 17, 2010. Mr. Newton was born on June 30, 1953 to the late Charlotte and Elmore Newton. He was a lifelong resident of Harnett County. Mr. Newton was a tobacco farmer and later a poultry farmer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Newton of Charlotte.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 20 at 3:00 p.m. at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel. Service officials will be the Rev. Bill Pauley and Pastor Wanda Bayles.

Burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington.

The family will receive friends at the home of Michael Newton.

Survivors include his two sons, Robert and Mirek; a granddaughter, Lilly; his brother, Michael and wife Linda of Lillington; a sister, Jean Dawson and husband Bob of Pinehurst; three nephews and one niece; two great-nephews and four great-nieces.
