Thora Faye Johnson Womble, 100, of Lillington died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Central Harnett Hospital.

Thora was born March 23, 1916 in Duplin Co. to the late Leonidas and May Garner Johnson. Thora was preceded in death by her husband John Max Womble; a grandson, Max Daniel Manning; two brothers, Calhoun Johnson and Boreham Johnson; three sisters, Faith Lehman, Gretchen Corbitt and Dolores Miller.

Thora was a member of Lillington Baptist for 88 years. She enjoyed playing the piano, listening to music and meeting new people.

Thora was survived by three daughters, Nell Womble Manning of Lillington, Barbara Womble Allen and husband Bill of Wilmington, Nanci Womble Nelson and husband Joe of Clayton; a son, John M. Womble and wife Deborah of Lillington; two sisters, Janet Ozer and husband Eril of Australia and Fonrose Rice of Bayboro, NC; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Lillington Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Selman officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home.
