Mr. Thomas "Mickey" Matthews, 69, of Surf City, died Sunday, November 1, 2020.

Mickey was predeceased by his father, Thomas M. Matthews.

He is survived by his mother, Christine W. Matthews of Lillington; his daughter, Morgan Matthews of Portland, Oregon; his sister, Gloria Yarbrough (Jerry) of Buies Creek; his brother, Tony Matthews (Debbie) of Dunn; sister, Sherry Rice (Jerry) of Star, NC; wife, Candace Matthews of Luray, Va and step-son, Kyle Houser (Jessica) of Luray, Va.

Mickey served the Raleigh Fire Department and Matthews Landscaping for 30 years. He enjoyed serving BBQ to his family and friends. He loved the beach.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 6, 2020 at Lillington Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 AM.
