Teresa McDonald Jernigan, 73, of Lillington passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at her home. She was born in Harnett County on February 20, 1953 to the late Frederick "Fred" Pittman McDonald and Iris Elaine Hudgins McDonald.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Casper "Ricky" Martin Jernigan; and brother, Frederick "Lynn" McDonald.

Teresa is survived by her daughter, Heather Anderson; grandson, Tyler Atkins; brother, Oscar "Graham" McDonald (and his wife, Deborah); as well as many extended family.

Teresa worked various jobs including as a bank teller, caregiver, and hairdresser, but her greatest was as homemaker (she was a fabulous cook) that allowed her to spend more time with her family, whom she loved greatly. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.   She will greatly missed and forever loved.

Services will be held at a later date.

Plants are welcome or a donation may be made in her memory to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
