Mrs. Sylvia McCauley Paschal, 90, of Angier, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 11:30 am at Lillington Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Selman presiding.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Benjamin D. McCauley.

Sylvia is survived by her husband of 69 years, William John Paschal; her three children, John R. Paschal and wife, Cathy, of Clayton,  Jane P. Brumbeloe and husband, Bob, of Fuquay-Varina and Jeffrey K. Paschal and wife, Brenda, of Fuquay-Varina; brother, William O. McCauley and wife, Audrie, of Murrells Inlet, SC; eight grandchildren, Allyson P. Lee and husband, Corey, Angela P. Standley and husband, Jody, Taylor E. Brumbeloe, Tahlia P. Renn and husband, Chris, Rebecca P. Carter and husband, Chris, Hayes K. Brumbeloe and wife, Marissa, Lindsey K. Paschal, and W. Bryce Paschal; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Sylvia was a loving wife and mother for over 60 years but her most cherished role was being "Granny" to her grandchildren, great- grandchildren and any child lucky enough to have known her. A natural caregiver and nurturer, her ability to love others was Granny's greatest gift to everyone that knew her. Granny was kind, compassionate, patient and gentle. Her smile could light up the darkest room and her ability to make everyone she met feel seen, valued and loved will be her greatest legacy.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lillington Baptist Church.
