Susan Kay Jones, 77, of Broadway, NC, passed away peacefully on September, 4, 2026.

At the center of Susan’s life was her love for God. She was devoted to studying the Bible and was a faithful prayer partner to those she loved. She loved her family deeply and worked tirelessly to care for them. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, and freeze-drying, and she believed in always being prepared. She also loved her home and took great joy in making it beautiful. Her chandeliers, treasured furniture, rose garden, and peaceful waterfall were especially dear to her.

Susan is survived by her husband, James Albert Jones Jr.; her son, Matthew Curtis Jones and his partner, Melinda Fitzgerald; her daughter, Sarah Andrea Burgess and husband Michael Burgess; her grandchildren, Isaiah Griffin and his wife, Kaitlyn Blake Griffin, Hannah Griffin, and Madeline Griffin and her husband, Sebastian Warren; her great-granddaughter, Luna Sarah Griffin, step-grandchildren/ step-great-grandchildren, and her favorite fur-baby, Faith.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, devotion to her family, strong and capable spirit, and the many ways she expressed her love through prayer, hard work, and care. Her family finds comfort in knowing that the God she loved and served so faithfully has welcomed her home.

A service will be held at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Spring Lake, NC 28390, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 12 p.m.  Guests who wish to attend the service are welcome to gather at the funeral home for a procession to Sandhills, the procession will leave at 11:00 a.m.
