Sunnie Marie Byrd, 52, of Lillington, passed away on January 12, 2010 following a brave battle with brain cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Lassiter Byrd. A lifelong resident of Harnett County, Sunnie worked for almost 25 years in the family business, Byrd's Grill, until it closed in late December of 1998. For the past 10 years she was employed at Saab Barracuda in Lillington where she leaves behind numerous dear friends. Sunnie was a graduate of Lillington High School. Her passion was gardening and caring for dogs. She especially loved the collie breed.

Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, January 16, 2010 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jim Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Bunnlevel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00â€
