Mrs. Stella Marie Blankenship Akers, 88, of Spring Lake passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at her home. She was born in Maitland, WV, the daughter of the late William Henry and Renda Jane Milam Blankenship. Mrs. Akers was preceded in death by her husband, Wilda Akers; daughter, Drena Gay Glover; son, Ricky Dean Akers and several brothers. She was a homemaker, mother and wife of a pastor.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 7, 2014 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel in Lillington with Rev. Larry Stancil officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM.

Mrs. Akers is survived by her sons, Reggie Akers and wife Stella of Spring Lake and Ron Akers of Spring Lake, 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
