Mr. Stanley "Jack" Edward Blanchard, 92, of Fuquay Varina passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at the William M. Dunlap Hospice Center for Caring in Raleigh. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late Floyd Stanley and Mattie Ausley Blanchard. Mr. Blanchard was a US Army veteran of WWII. He worked as a tobacco farmer with his father all of his life. Mr. Blanchard enjoyed gardening and was a big NASCAR racing fan. He was a life long member of Christian Light Christian Church. Mr. Blanchard was preceded in death by his sisters, Hilda B. Brown and Gertrude B. Arnold.

Graveside service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Christian Light Christian Church Cemetery in Fuquay Varina with Rev. Jimmy Elliott, Rev. C. Paul Jones and Rev. Bob Coats officiating. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 2:00-3:00 PM and other times at the home.

Mr. Blanchard is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Rachel W. Blanchard of the home, sisters, Ruth Baucom, Louise Johnson, Florie Smith, Jo Ann Betts all of Fuquay Varina and Iris Johnson of Lillington, 18 nieces and nephews.
