Mrs. Shirlee F. Johnson, 73, of Lillington passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. She was born in Buncombe County, the daughter of the late Roy Edmund and Margarette Cagle Fields. Shirlee dedicated her life to the education of children. She was a teacher and librarian at Harnett Central Middle School until her retirement. Shirlee continued to be an active member of NCAE and NEA. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Lillington Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Lillington Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dawn Stoker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall Thursday from 2:00-3:00 PM.

Shirlee is survived by a daughter, Susan Stephenson DuPree and husband, Todd of Lillington, daughter, Kristi Adams and husband, Darrell of Angier, 3 granddaughters, Amanda Sills, Samantha and Jessica DuPree.
