Mrs. Sarah Jeanette Upchurch Patterson, 82, of Broadway died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at her home. She was born June 3, 1930 in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Frank and Alberta Upchurch. Mrs. Patterson was a retired cafeteria worker at Boone Trail Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Alex Patterson; son, Nelson Eugene Patterson; sister and five brothers.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Multipurpose Center in Broadway with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Multipurpose Center Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM.

She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Holder and husband Graham of Broadway; daughter, Fran Patterson of Broadway; daughter, Regina Ivey and husband Olin of Holden Beach; daughter-in-law, Beverly Patterson of Broadway; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Upchurch of Broadway, brother, Ray Upchurch of Broadway, brother, Durward Upchurch of Mamers, brother, Bennie Upchurch of Broadway; sister, Mary Eunice Chandler of Broadway; sister, Joanne Roberts of Broadway and many nieces and nephews.
