Sara Hatley Wathen, 78 of Lillington, formerly of the Pinehurst area, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at her home. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late James Clyde "J.C." and Kathleen Lanier Hatley.

A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Harnett Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Elton Hendricks officiating.

Mrs. Wathen is survived by her daughter, Andrea Wathen Testa and husband Ray of Pinehurst. Son, Scott Wathen and wife Kerry Brennan Wathen of Southern Pines. Granddaughter, Morgan Kathleen Wathen and grandson, Matthew Scott Wathen.
