Mrs. Sandy Beck, age 49, of Coats died Monday, August 9, 2010 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. She was born in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of the late Sanford Marshall and Catherine Preisler. Sandy was a barber for most of her life. She owned It's Your Barbershop in Coats from 2006-2008.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Mike Beck of the home; son, Mike Beck, Jr. of Erwin; daughter, Cathy Chosewood of Coats; and grandchildren, Hunter Beck and T.T. Webb.
