Mrs. Sandra "Sandy" Stewart Rigsbee, 61, of Angier passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 surrounded by her family at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of Edna Hannan Stewart Finch and the late Troy Joseph Stewart. Sandy graduated from Angier High School in 1973. Sandy worked at Campbell University for several years. She had a warm and hospitable personality and enjoyed spending time with her large family. Sandy also loved her pets. She enjoyed cooking, baking and decorating for Christmas. Sandy's early years were spent in different states due to her father's military service.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 28 years, Mark Rigsbee of the home; son, Christopher Spivey of Raleigh; daughter, Kara Spivey Daniels and husband, Rodney of Erwin; daughter, Chelsie Rigsbee and fiancé, Andrew Cranford of Cary; 4 grandchildren, Tessa Reardon, Mikayla, Gracey and Jack Spivey; mother, Edna Hannan Stewart Finch of Angier; brothers, Stephen Stewart of Washington, D.C., Joel Stewart of Raleigh, Jeff Stewart of Angier; sister, Shelly Stewart Barbour of Princeton; step-mother, Jean Stewart of Coats; nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main St., Lillington, NC 27546 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
