Sandra Byrd Hickey, 58 of Buies Creek died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at her home. Sandra was born in Cumberland County, the daughter of Rhora McNeill "Mac" Byrd, Jr. and the late Katherine Merritt Byrd. She was a graduate of Berry High School in Birmingham, Alabama and also was a graduate of Auburn University. She was a web-site graphics designer.


Funeral service Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at 11:00 am in the O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dr. David Whiteman and Rev. Max Eller.

In addition to her father, she is survived by two sons: James McNeill "Mac" Hickey of Cleveland, Ohio, and Adam Webster Hickey of New York, New York; 2 brothers, Jerry M. Byrd and wife Judy of Nevada, John W. Byrd and wife Pamela of Fayetteville; 1 granddaughter Abigail Grace
