Mrs. Ruth Marie Hill, 76, of Lillington passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn surrounded by her family.

Ruth Marie Hill lived a life in contrast. She had strength to endure struggles that would have crippled others but enough empathy to make everyone in her orbit feel loved. Tough enough to raise three rambunctious boys without killing them but kind enough to make strangers feel seen. She was sassy and sweet. She pulled people into her heart and never let them go. She let people see her vulnerability and pain and they knew she saw theirs without judgment and loved them unconditionally.

She is survived by a family that never doubted her love. Husband Carl, sons Ben (Sonya), Ron (Liz), and Carl Jr., grandchildren Mitchell, Joshua (Kyle), Beau, Rachel (Josh), Haley, Elizabeth (Angelo), Olivia, and Hannah, great grandchildren Sadie, Blake, Jackson, Reign, and Layla.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 10:00-10:45 AM at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Lillington.
