Ruth S. Bowers, 92 of Lillington died Sunday, December 28, 2009 at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles and Victoria Solesbee and was preceded in death by her husband, Ed R. Bowers. She retired from Mission Hospital in Asheville after 20 years of service. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookfield Retirement Center and Dr. Rudolfo Reyes for their love and support given to their mother for the past 5 years.

Funeral service wil be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel with Odell McNeill officiating. Burial will be in the Summerville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00â€
