Ruby Mae Long, 88 of Lillington died Friday, April 12, 2013 at Green Leaf Care Center in Lillington. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lina Johnson Wilder and was preceded in death by her husband Joe Tom Long. Mrs. Long was the church organist at the Lillington Baptist Church for 63 years. In 2011 she was honored by the church and the Town of Lillington for her many years of devotion to the music program and for the many piano students she taught throughout her lifetime.

Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Lillington Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be in Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00--8:00 pm Monday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home, other times at the home of Terry and Ruby Jo Manahan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lillington Baptist Church Playground Fund, PO Box 670, Lillington, NC 27546 or to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Mrs. Long is survived by her son, Ernest Long of Lillington; daughter, Ruby Jo Manahan and husband Terry of Lillington. Grandchildren, Matthew, Lydia and Donna Manahan. Great grandson, Cole Draiden Wilson.
