Ruby S. Burchette, 86 of Fuquay Varina died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Emerald Health and Rehab Center in Lillington. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Iola Senter Steed. Mrs. Burchette was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Burchette; sister, Mary S. Lindsay; brothers, Roy, Robert, and Ray Steed. Mrs. Burchette was a lifetime member of Christian Light Christian Church where she served as treasurer for many years and held various positions in the church throughout her lifetime. Mrs. Burchette retired from Fidelity Bank after 35 years of service.

Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Christian Light Christian Church with Rev. Jimmy Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 2:00—3:00 pm prior to the service.

Mrs. Burchette was survived by her brothers, Levi Steed and wife Annettie of Raleigh; Sam Steed of Fuquay Varina. Sisters, Rachel Korpulinski and Polly Wise, both of Fuquay Varina.
