Royce Ray Thomas, 62 of Lillington died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his home.

Royce was born July 13, 1953 in Lee Co. to the late Augusta James and Nannie Mae Brown Thomas. Royce was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Brown; and a brother, Harold Thomas.

Royce loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening.

Royce is survived by his wife of 26 years, Phillis Thomas of Lillington, a son, Allen Thomas and wife Christy of Olivia; 4 sisters, Ella Barbara Maddox and husband Robert of Broadway, Linda Roper and husband Jim of Fuquay-Varina, Cheryl Owings and husband Don of Sanford, and Joyce Loney and husband Mike of West End.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 20, 2015 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home.
