Mr. Roy B. Harvell, 86 of Lillington died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Oaksie Walker Harvell and 4 sisters. Mr. Harvell was a veteran of World War II, serving the in the United States Army. He owned and operated FCX in Lillington for over 20 years before his retirement in 1977. Following retirement, he worked at Senter-Sanders Tractor Company in Garner for approximately 18 years. Roy was active in his community, serving as a volunteer fireman for the Lillington Fire Department. He was a member of the Lillington Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. Roy was instrumental in founding Cape Fear Christian Academy and was also involved with the Harnett County ARC program.

Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011 at Lillington Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be in Westview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at O'Quinn Peebles Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lenora Keith Harvell. Daughter, Linda Harvell Hamilton of Lillington. Son, Mark Harvell and wife Susie of Lillington. Sister, Ruby Turlington of Linden. 6 Grandchildren: Kristy-Ann H. Joyce, Tyler Hamilton, Shannon Hamilton, Candice Beach, Kyle Harvell, and Meredith Harvell. 7 great grandchildren
