Mr. Robert Welton Womack, 62, of Lillington passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at home. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late Welton and Elaine Gilchrist Womack. Robert honored his father and mother throughout their lives. During his mother's lengthy illness, Robert was especially attentive to her needs and helped care for her in a variety of ways. Robert worked in the construction industry for 44 years, during which time he was respected and valued by his supervisors and peers. Robert most loved his family and viewed neighbors and friends as such. Robert was a man of few words with strong and sincere emotions. He enjoyed cooking out for his family and friends. The times he valued most were with those he loved. Robert was humble and frequently helped others without need for recognition. Although Robert loved all his family, he felt especially blessed to have his son Bryce and daughter-in-law Ashleigh. He was admired and respected by those who knew him. His opinions and advice were sought by many.

Robert is survived by his son, Bryce Yarbrough and wife, Ashleigh of the home; three sisters, Barbara Lloyd, Connie Wicker and husband Jimmy, Sandra Pait all of Lillington; brother, Jimmy Womack and wife Jeannette of Southern Pines; three nieces, Monica Stephenson, Donna Rose and husband Mike, Jamie Wicker; three nephews, Daniel Womack and wife Glenda, Travis Wicker and wife Jenny, Nathan Pait.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Union United Methodist Church, 2212 Nursery Road, Lillington, NC 27546 with Dr. Rod Mullen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and other times at the home.
