Robert Edward Gaskin, 80, of Buies Creek died Monday, March 9, 2015. He was born March 8, 1935 in Harnett County to the late Edward Peal Gaskin and Reba Byrd Gaskin.

Before retiring, he worked as an accountant, security guard and owner/operator of the American Service Station in Buies Creek. Robert's hobbies included writing history and poetry. He had been a member of several organizations including the Rotary Club, Masons, Jaycees and Full Gospel Business Men. He was a life time member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served in many positions.

He is survived by his brother, LaVern Gaskin and wife Donna, nephew, Mark Gaskin and wife Angela, niece, Kristy Stocks and husband Dalton, 3 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces.

Funeral service will be 4:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Angier with Dr. Rick Jefferds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 3:00-4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 851 Oak Grove Church Rd., Angier, NC 27501.
