Mr. Ray B. Patterson, 78 of Mamers died Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at his home. A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late John R. and Fannie McLean Patterson and was preceded in death by a grandson, Tommie Ray Arnold and son-in-law, Rick Sheffield. Mr. Patterson was employed as a NC Safety Inspector for NC Dept. of Motor Vehicles.

Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 PM, Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Holly Spring Baptist Church in Broadway with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the funeral home, other times at the home.

Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife Elsie Kelly Patterson; daughter Debbie P. Arnold and her husband Connie of Mamers; daughter Kim P. Sheffield of Fuquay-Varina; son Ronnie R. Patterson and wife Frances of Fuquay-Varina; son Phil B. Patterson and wife Janet of Wilmington; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
