Mrs. Rachel Salmon Edwards, 96, of Lillington passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Jordan Alexander and Arrelia Ann Smith Salmon. Rachel was a graduate of Lillington High School. She worked as a seamstress for Sanitary Cleaners in Lillington for many years. Rachel was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Lillington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Edwards, a grandson, Lee Bull, sisters, Ruth Ballard and Margaret Rafferty, brothers, Woodrow Salmon and James Salmon.

Rachel is survived by her daughter, Marie E. Bull and husband, Walter of Lillington; son, Paul William Edwards and wife, Helene of Greenville, SC; great-grandson, Preston S. Bull and wife, Michelle of Leland and great-great grandson, Mason P. Bull; sister-in-law, Geraldine W. Salmon; nieces, Faye Gilbert, Ruth Thomas, Patricia Collins; nephews, Samuel Ballard, Bonnie Ballard, Wayne Salmon, David Salmon and Curtis Salmon; great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rod Mullen officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.
