Phyllis D. Hockaday, age 55, of Bunnlevel died Wednesday, July 27, 2011. A native of Harnett County, the daughter of Elizabeth and the late James Hockaday. She is preceded in death by a nephew Jason and her sister Rebecca Ann Mauney. She was active in ARC of Harnett County and Harmony Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 1, 2011 at 2 PM at Harmony Baptist Church, Bunnlevel. The memorial will be officiated be Rev. Carl Graham. Burial will be held privately at Westview Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Monday, August 1, 2011 12:00-2:00 PM at Harmony Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hockaday family for funeral expenses in care of O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home, PO Box 266, Lillington, NC 27546.

She is survived by her mother: Elizabeth Hockaday, of Bunnlevel; brothers: Harry Hockaday and wife Shirley of Garner, Steve Hockaday and wife Wanda of Garner, Tony Hockaday and wife Joy of Bunnlevel; sisters: Betty Lou Dawson of Raleigh, Tammy Benson and husband Sean of Spring Lake.
