Mrs. Peggy Moss Womack, 73 of Broadway died at her home on Saturday, October 23, 2010. A resident of Lee County, she was the daughter of the late James Russell and Alma Weaver Moss, formerly of Mamers, NC. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris L. Moss. A beacon in the community, she served as youth choir director for many years, a Sunday school teacher, devoted wife, mother, and friend to all, both in her family and outside of her family. Always doing for others, she was well known for her masterpiece quilts and shared them as an extension of her ministry to others. Peggy will be greatly missed by all those who were touched by her life and had the privilege of receiving her love.
Homegoing Celebration will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Baptist Chapel Baptist Church, 2413 Buckhorn Road, Sanford, NC 27330 with Rev. Alex Smith and Rev. George Stallings, Jr.officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, Oct. 26th in the Baptist Chapel Baptist Church Sanctuary, other times at her home.

Peggy is survived by husband of 55 years, Franklin Wayne Womack;
Daughters, Audrey Womack of Greensboro; Frankie W. Durham and husband Mark of Sanford; Wendy W. Smith and husband Greg of Sanford.
Sister, Faye Moss Cline of Lillington.
5 Grandchildren: Dana Kennedy Pomeranz and husband John, Crystal Leigh Scott and husband Drew, Kasey Kennedy Sanders and husband Chris, Andrew Roy-Wayne Thompson and Adam Benjamin Smith.
5 great grandchildren: Ian Thomas Pomeranz, Regan Janie Elyse Thompson, Sydney Campbell Pomeranz, Reese Somer Sanders, and Aiden Lane Cordell Scott;
15 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
