Peggy Hamilton Coats, 74 of Groveland FL died Wednesday July 10. 2013 at her daughters residence in Broadway.

Peggy is the daughter of the late George Willis and Maggie Lucile Owens Hamilton.

Peggy was the first baby born in Raleigh in 1939. She had retired after 30 years from Wachovia Bank.


Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday July 13, 2013 at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Branch Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Friday July 12, 2013 at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home, Lillington.


Peggy is survived by her husband, Everette Coats, 2 sons, William Lasater and wife Karen of Anderson Creek, Michael Lasater of Holden Beach; a daughter Cindy Buchanan and husband Craig of Broadway; 1 sister, Judy West and husband Douglas of Spring Lake; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Michael Lasater, Emily Ann Lasater, Daniel Craig Buchanan, Kelli Brooke Buchanan, Laura Patterson, Jacob D. Melvin, Anna B. Melvin, Maggie Buchanan. 6 great grand children.
