Paul Clement Geeding, a resident of Lillington, North Carolina, died on January 29, 2015.
Mr. Geeding was born on August 14, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas. He was active in scouting and earned the Eagle Scout Award. He graduated from Wichita East High School in 1977. In 1978 Paul enlisted in the United States Navy and became a navy corpsman. He served onboard ship as well as at the Naval Hospital at Guantanamo Bay. He fulfilled his commitment by serving as a corpsman for a Marine infantry platoon in the 2/6 2d Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and was honorably discharged. He returned to school and graduated from Wichita State University. He became a certified respiratory therapists and worked at Via Christi Hospital and the VA Hospital both in Wichita, Kansas; he also worked Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield, North Carolina. He loved to dive and became a master diver. He loved to play chess. He was a 32nd degree mason and belonged to Albert Pike Lodge A.F and A.M., Wichita Scottish Rite, and Midian Shrine Temple all located in Wichita, Kansas.
He is predeceased by his parents, Wilbur and Marian Geeding.
He is survived by his wife Marlyn of Lillington, North Carolina, brothers Martin and his wife Doris of Wichita, Kansas; and Edward and his wife Sharon of Clarinda, Iowa; nephew Grant Geeding of Wichita, Kansas and; nieces Rachel Geeding and Heather Geeding of Wichita Kansas and Christina Muff of Clarinda, Iowa.
Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy, 130 N. Topeka Street, Wichita, Kansas.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 2, 2015 O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Horne officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Funeral Home.
