SFC Orbrey Chester Davis, (Ret.) US Army, age 75, of Lillington died Monday, September 19, 2011 at Womack Army Medical Center, Ft. Bragg. He was born in Macon, Missouri, the son of the late Orbrey Terrell Davis and Margaret Josephine Ridings. Mr. Davis retired after 20 years of military service in the 82nd Airborne and Special Forces. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Mr. Davis was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After retiring, he enjoyed raising all types of animals including exotic birds.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 21,2011 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel in Lillington with military honors. The family will receive friends at O'Quinn-Peebles Wednesday from 2:00-3:00 PM.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rose Mary "Dixie" Davis of the home, children, Ricky Davis and wife Donna of Greenville, NC, Richard Davis and wife Linda of Lillington, Connie Tyer and husband Rick of Lillington, Kenny Davis and partner, Cammie Littlefield of Lillington, Kristie O'Quinn and husband Don of Sanford, grandchildren, Rachael Smith and husband Kevin of Greenville, NC, Rebecca Davis of Greenville, NC, Robert Matthews of Lillington, Dariane Davis of Lillington, Kendra Davis of Lillington, great-grandchildren, Jasmine O'Quinn, Kamdyn O'Quinn and Chase O'Quinn all of Sanford, sister, Patricia Justice and husband Irving of Rolling Hills, TX.Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 21,2011 at Oâ
