Erwin

Odis Thomas Temple, 73 of Erwin, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at his residence.

After 38 years with the Department of Corrections, he retired as the Assistant Superintendent at Harnett Correctional Institution. He was also a lifelong farmer.

The funeral service will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Bunnlevel Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend JoAnne Lee officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the church. Entombment will follow at Westview Memorial Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Spence Temple and parents, Hermon and Frances Stewart Temple.

He is survived by his son Lanny Odis Temple of Erwin; grandson Lanny Dolan-Grey Temple of Erwin; 2 brothers, Jesse Worth Temple and wife Judy of Winchester, VA and Frank Temple and wife Jenny of Emporia, VA.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to United Hospice, 332 N. Brightleaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577.
