Norma Jean Clayton of Broadway, NC died Friday, March 6, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 31st, 1932 to the late Norman B. and Mozelle Wester Patterson. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Fred Patterson, and her sister Betty Boroviak.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 65 years, Henry Bernard Clayton, her sisters Dorothy Warner of Sanford and Grace Patton of Clyde, her five children: Larry (Elaine), Phyllis Tankersley (Roger), Duane (Cathy), Donna May (Darrell), and Darrell (Barbara), 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson.

Norma Jean enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking for her family, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandson and many friends. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers for many years and retired from Eaton Corporation.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Broaddus officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Sunday and other times at the home of Darrell and Barbara Clayton.
