Noralene Thomas Newtown, 88, passed away Friday May 6, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 13, 1933, in Lillington, NC to the late Essie Brown Thomas and Clarence Thomas. Noralene was preceded in death by her son, William Henry Moore; and her brothers Harold Thomas, Oaker Lee Thomas, Odell Thomas, C.T. Thomas, and Ray Thomas.

Noralene was a devoted and faithful member of Summerville Presbyterian Church in Lillington. She loved reading, working on crossword puzzles, and dining at restaurants. Noralene was a dedicated wife who loved caring for her beloved husband, John and her children. Most of all, she cherished the memories shared with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 11 years, John Reginald Newtown; her daughters, Trish Herrick and Teresa Hart and husband Bill; her son, Rick Moore and wife Myong; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sisters, Frances Betencourt, Shirley Bain, and Anne Price; and her brother, Danny Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 1-2PM on Saturday May 14 at O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main St. in Lillington. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Shirley Bain officiating.
