Nellie O'Quinn Holder, 90, was called home on Sunday, August 2, 2015 to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.

Nellie was born in Harnett County to the late Rob and Lessie O'Quinn. She remained a life-long resident and was married to Master Sergeant Lois Holder, who preceded her in death in October 2003. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Kenyon and her sister, Lillie Walker.

She dedicated her life to serving her family unselfishly and to serving her Lord. Nellie was filled with kindness and a love for others and always enjoyed baking for them. She had quite the reputation for being a wonderful cook. Nellie loved her family and enjoyed canning, working in her yard and growing beautiful flowers.

She is survived by her daughter Nancy Foster and husband, John of Jacksonville, Florida; her son David Holder and wife, Karen of Lillington; and sister, Ilene Ridenhour of Sanford; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at O'Quinn-Peebles-Philips Funeral Home in Lillington.

A service celebrating Nellie's life will be held at O'Quinn-Peebles-Philips Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, with the burial immediately following at the Westview Gardens.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimer's North Carolina Inc. or the North Carolina Stroke Association in memory of Nellie O'Quinn Holder.
