Obituary

Ms. Nellie Dean Coleman went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 27th, 2022. She was 91 years young. She was born on May 3rd, 1931 to the late Mr. James Robert Dean and Mrs. Essie Mae Dean both of Harnett County. She is preceded in death by her brothers Crayton Senter and Joseph "Demp" Senter, and grandson James Christopher Sprague.

Nellie was born and raised in Christian Light and graduated from Lafayette High School. She worked for many years in manufacturing and was the proud owner of Nell's florist in Lillington. She went on to teach floral design where she shared her passion of flowers with many members of the community. However, greater than her love for flowers was her devotion to the Lord.

Nellie will be missed by so many and forever remembered as a strong and loving woman whose personality was larger than life. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Nellie. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gospel music, but, above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.  Her caring nature and occasional, endearing stubbornness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son Sidney Charles "Chuck" Coleman of Lillington; her daughter Shelia Coleman Sprague and husband James "Nub" Bordeaux of Lillington; her beloved cat Milo; grandchildren Natalie Sexton, Dustin Coleman and Jonathan Woodell; great-grandchildren Sydney Sprague, Davis Sexton, Josiah Sexton and Aubrey Coleman; her dear cousin and friend Marie Collins; very special friends Nell Manning, Mary Ann Roberson, Joan Joyner and Janet Campbell;  several nieces, nephews and cousins that she was so proud of and loved with her whole heart.

A celebration of life service will be held at the end of the summer and all who cared for Nellie are invited to attend. Details will be posted at a later date.
