Nancy Marshbanks Bales passed away May 24, 2023 in her Buies Creek, North Carolina home. She was born February 10, 1931 in Buies Creek, the youngest child of Burgess P. Marshbanks, Sr. and Lottie Link Marshbanks. Nancy attended Campbell College, and, in 1953, graduated from Wake Forest College.

Nancy and Edwin Davis married in 1953 and raised three daughters in Cary. In 1983 Nancy married James Bales. They lived in Arizona until 1986 when she and Jim returned to North Carolina and chose Buies Creek as their home.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, May and Mildred, Edwin, and Jim. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Davis, Susan Anderson (Walter) and Melissa Davis; her grandchildren, Rebecca and Graham Burke; Jim's children, Caroline, Philipp (Marlene), and Andrew Bales; and her brother, Burgess, Jr.

Nancy's children thank her Buies Creek family, friends, and community for their love and care for all the 92 years of her life.
