Obituary

Mrs. Nan Lewis Farmer Wood, 85, of Lillington passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. She was born in Wilson County, the daughter of the late Leslie Sharpe Farmer, Sr. and Nannie Lewis Farmer. She was a graduate of Peace College and East Carolina University. Mrs. Wood taught English at Lillington High School and Boone Trail High School. She also managed farms in Wilson and Nash counties while hard at work as a homemaker. Mrs. Wood enjoyed traveling with her husband and best friend, Cameron, around the US by motor coach. She especially loved going to Myrtle Beach and spending time with friends. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron W. Wood and a brother, Leslie S. Farmer, Jr. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

A memorial service will be 4:00 PM Sunday, December 27, 2015 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00-4:00 PM and other times at the home.

Mrs. Wood is survived by her daughter, Deborah Wood Sellers of the home, 3 grandchildren, James L. Sellers of Asheville, Melissa S. Sheppard and husband, Mike of Whispering Pines, Robert J. Sellers of Mamers, great-granddaughter, Lexie Nan Pae.
