MSGT. Harry "Pappy "A. Kitchen, Sr. (Ret. USAF), age 77, of Lillington died Monday, June 7, 2010 at his home surrounded by his children. He has retired once more to be with his wife of 58 years, Alma Kitchen. Mr. Kitchen was born in Beech Creek, PA, the son of the late Robert Harvey and Guila Wagner Kitchen. He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of service. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran. Mr. Kitchen graduated from CCTI in Sanford with a Master Mechanics Degree.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 10, 2010 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel, Lillington with Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends at O'Quinn-Peebles Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
He is survived by daughters, Catherine Markworth and husband Randall of Dallas,OR, Muriel Dean and husband Wayne of Lillington, Martha Wieking and husband Brian of Lillington, Susie McLean and husband Jimmy of Broadway, Kim Kitchen of Lillington, sons, Harry "Hank" Kitchen, Jr. and wife Tracy of Lillington,Robert "Bob" Kitchen and wife Melissa of Godwin,17 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren, little buddy, Sonny, three brothers Robert Harvey Kitchen Jr. of Beaufort, SC, Danny Fravel of Beech Creek, PA, Mike Kitchen of Beech Creek, PA, sister,Norma Adrian of Pine Creek, PA.
