Obituary

Mr. Brad Sizemore, 57, of Raleigh passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at his home. He was born in Danville, VA the son of late Anne Howard and late Garner Sizemore. Brad was raised in Cary, NC and a graduate of Cary High School where he was very involved in Drama. He attended the N.C. School of the Arts and studied scene design which kicked off his lifelong love of theatre. Brad worked all over the country as a technical director, set builder and scene designer for many productions. He lived in New York City several years and worked off Broadway. Most recently, he designed the set of the Christmas play for the Cary Players Community Theatre Company. Brad was nominated and awarded the Pietzsch Award for Outstanding Set Design for "Dashing Through the Snow" in 2015. Throughout his career, he met and befriended many famous people such as the late blues artist, B.B. King.


Brad is survived by his son, Zane Richard Sizemore and his mother, Beth Carter both of Durham; sister, Pamela Grissom of Lillington; step-father, Ed Howard of Lillington; step-sister, Wendy Howard and 2 nephews, Timothy and Dylan Grissom.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM with time of sharing at 7:30 PM. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Westview Cemetery in Lillington.
