Mrs. Mildred "Millie" G. Darroch, 83, of Lillington passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on Wednesday April 15, 2020 at her home. She was born February 12, 1937 in Sampson County, the daughter of the late Shellie Bruce and Addie Mildred Johnson Gurganious. While attending Worth Business College, Millie met her future husband, Fred Darroch. They were married in 1957 and enjoyed 61 years of marriage together before his passing in 2018. Millie retired from Champion Home Builders with over 30 years of service. Additionally, she was an active member of the Lillington Business and Professional Women. After retirement, she was a dedicated volunteer with both the Lillington Chamber of Commerce and the Harnett County Courthouse. Millie was a faithful and beloved member of the Lillington United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Although she enjoyed her career and volunteering, Millie's greatest pride and joy was her family. Millie's loving spirit touched everyone in her family and community.

Millie is survived by two daughters, Lounette D. Black (William) of Fuquay-Varina and Denise D. Williford of Apex; five grandchildren, Will Black (Sarah), Austin Black, Kathleen Black, Morgan Williford and Adam Williford; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Nellie Black; two sisters, Alice Love Byrd and Barbara Schultz-Keefe; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Johnson.

A private graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, attendance is limited to immediate family. The public is invited to sign the guest register book at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Thursday from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM or Friday from 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM.
