Mr. Mike Ray, 62 of Lillington died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. A native of Harnett County, he was preceded in death by his father, Charles Cox Ray, Sr. and a brother, Charles C. Ray, Jr.

Mike was self employed as a contractor, operating as Mike Ray Backhoe Service in Lillington, working in the surrounding counties.

Graveside service will be conducted 4:00 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. David Anderson, Rev. Martin Groover, and Rev. Terry Williams offiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at his home.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sheila Gilchrist Ray
Daughters: Lisa Ray Spitzer and husband Jason of Lillington; Marsha Ray Thomas of Lillington. Mother, Mary Privott Ray of Lillington. 2 grandchildren, Darian Sheila Thomas and Jaylyn Ray Spitzer. Brother, Duncan Ray of Raleigh. Sister, Mary Grace Mason of Concord.
