Mr. Michael Wayne Rawls, 68, of Lillington passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. He was born in Baytown, TX the son of the late Weldon Wayne Rawls and Geraldine Goodman Rawls. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Rawls. He was a veteran of the United States Army stationed at Ft. Bragg. Michael was a U.S. Postal Service carrier for 5 years in Texas. He worked as a N.C. Correctional Officer for 15 years and a CVS pharmacy technician for 13 years. Michael was an organic gardener and carved wooden spoons. He served as a summer missionary for the Rio Grande river ministry in Laredo, TX. Michael was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lillington for 35 years where he served as a Sunday school teacher and a Deacon.

Michael is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marsha Coleman Rawls of the home; 3 sons, Joshua Rawls and wife, Tina of Lillington, Caleb Rawls and wife, Adrianne of Lillington, Nathan Rawls and wife, Holly of Erwin; 2 daughters, Rachel Baucom and husband, Adam of Lillington and Grace Harvey and husband, Josh of Lillington; 13 grandchildren; mother, Geraldine Goodman Rawls of Gonzales, TX; brother, Kent Rawls and wife, Brenda of Mont Belvieu, TX and sister, Susan Henley and husband, Tommy of Gonzales, TX; sister-in-law, Sharon Rawls of Highlands, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held later.
