Melody "Lynn" Gilliam Thompson, 70, of Apex, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020.

She was born in Gastonia, NC, on February 9, 1949 to the late William (Bill) Green and Betty Stewart. She grew up in Durham, NC and lived most of her life in the surrounding area. She loved her family, friends, and the Lord and was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed the beach, butterflies and music of all kinds.

Melody is survived by her three children: Angela Harvey and husband, Mike, of Apex; Cheryl O'Briant and husband, Clay, of Creedmoor; and Bill Gilliam of Wilmington. Grandchildren Colin Harvey and wife, Rebekah; Jessica Gilliam; Jake Gilliam; and Cara O'Briant; brother, Scott Green and wife, Jennifer, of Ararat; best friend of sixty years, Sandra Brooks of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Church Alive in Fuquay-Varina, NC Monday, February 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM.
