Obituary

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." -Psalm 23:4

Mary Womack, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, went home to be with Jesus on August 17, 2026, at the age of 98.

Born on June 27, 1928, in rural Mamers, North Carolina, Mary was a woman of humble beginnings and extraordinary love.  Her life was not defined by wealth or possessions, but by her faith in God, her devotion to her family, and her willingness to give of herself for others.

Mary married her beloved husband, Landon Womack, and together they built a life rooted in family, hard work, farming, and faith.  She devoted herself to raising their five children while tending to the home and helping with the work that came with farm life.  Through the years, she became the heart of her family-a woman whose greatest joy was caring for people God had placed in her life.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Landon Womack; her parents, Thomas McCauley and Alice Wilson McCauley; her siblings, Golden McCauley, Kinnie McCauley, Kizzie McCauley, Nellie McCauley, Sallie McCauley, Annie McCauley, John McCauley, and Thomas McCauley; her children, Landon Womack, Jr., Diane "Patty" Brinkley, and Eddie Womack and her granddaughter, Felicia "Catherine" Letuli.

She leaves behind two loving children, Thomas Womack and Rita (John) Letuli; grandchildren, Misty Womack, Cassandra "Cassie" Brinkley, Adrian (Brandon) Letuli, John "Landon" Letuli and Maninoupouleaiga "Nina" Letuli and her beloved great-grandchild, Katherine Letuli.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM, Thursday, August 20 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held Friday, August 21 beginning at 3:00 PM at Cool Springs Church, 2741 Cool Springs Road, Broadway, NC.  Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
